MATLAB Procedures
- Students will work together in their assigned teams. In this manner they will:
- finish assignments more quickly and cross-check their work;
- give their TAs a more manageable amount to grade;
- build their networking and cooperation skills.
- Read the appropriate chapter in Gilat (your lab manual) in
advance!
- Work the assigned problems in Gilat or Stewart.
- You will use the MATLAB Live Editor. For each problem, work in a
separate section of your Live Editor .mlx file. Run each block of code
separately, viewing results and graphics with the code that produced
them. Save early and often.
- When you have finished (or intermittently), Export to PDF to
create a .pdf file that you can print out.
- Do any hand work on ruled notebook paper or engineering green
graph paper.
- Assignments are due by the last date of the
assignment block, a Friday. This means in advance of
or on said Friday in computer lab, recitation, or your TA's office.
- You have three (3) weeks to work each assignment, which is
plenty of time.
- Manage your time according to your teams' schedules.
- Do NOT put things off! The further in advance that you do your
work, the more options you have in managing your schedule and those of
your team members.
- Use the 50 minutes in lab to complete as much of the assignment
as possible while your TA is available to help.
- Additionally, work at home individually, or meet with your team.
- When you finish, you will turn in the documentation of your
Matlab work to your TA in person: be that in computer lab,
recitation, or office. Make sure the following information is on
a cover sheet.
- Semester, MATH Course #, MATLAB Assignment #
- Section xxx, Team Members' Names, Student UINs
- Additionally, each team member should initial problem(s) worked
on, to encourage ALL members to participate in the lab. Anyone who
does not contribute may receive a ZERO for the lab!
- PLEASE READ the Math Dept
Procedure for Copied Answers. Take it to heart.
