Fall 2018: MATLAB in Math 151
Overview
- Problems from the previous week's course content will be posted below.
- Students will work together in their assigned teams during lab to complete as many of the problems as possible. All unfinished problems must be completed before the start of next week's computer lab
- You will use the MATLAB Live Editor. For each problem, work in a separate section of your Live Editor .mlx file. Run each block of code separately, viewing results and graphics with the code that produced them. Save early and often.
- When you have finished, Export to PDF to create one file which you will print and submit to your TA by the start of the next recitation. Team members names should be entered at the beginning of the file (see the template for more details).
- Do any hand/setup work on scratch paper, which will not be submitted. All computational aspects of each problem must be done in MATLAB
- Attendance in lab is strongly encouraged, as 1) you are able to get help from the TA during that time, and 2) this is the easiest way to access MATLAB without having to purchase it (other options listed below).
Problems will be posted here before lab each week
Schedule
There will be an assignment each week except for Week 1 and exam weeks.
Template (.mlx file) for each assignment. Right-click and "Save Link As...", then open in MATLAB
Accessing MATLAB outside of class
- X2GO server for remote access to your Calclab account
(NOTE: When using X2Go, you MUST log out of the account-do NOT simply close the window or you will have trouble logging in next time!)
- Access MATLAB in the Open Access Labs. If you need to transfer files to/from your Calclab account, use a flash drive, cloud storage, email, or FileZilla.
- VOAL for remote access to your Open Access Lab account
