MATH 150 - Functions, Trigonometry and Linear Systems

SCHEDULE:

• Week 1 -- 1.1 - 1.4. Topics covered: real numbers, exponents, factoring, rational expressions.
  
  
• Week 2 -- 1.5 - 1.9. Topics covered: equations, modeling with equations, inequalities, coordinate geometry, solving equations and inequalities graphically.
  
  
• Week 3 -- 1.10, 2.1 - 2.4. Topics covered: lines, functions, graphs of functions, average rate of change, transformations of functions.
  
  
• Week 4 -- 2.5 - 2.8, Topics covered: quadratic functions, modeling with functions, combining functions, 1-1 functions and inverses.
  
  
• Week 5 -- 2.8, Review, EXAM I. Topics covered: 1-1 functions and inverses.
  
  
• Week 6 -- 3.1, 3.2, 3.4, 3.6 (Add finding holes in graphs). Topics covered: graphs of polynomial functions, dividing polynomials, complex numbers, rational functions, holes
  
  
• Week 7 -- 4.1 - 4.4. Topics covered: exponential functions, logarithmic functions, laws of logarithms, exponential and logarithmic equations
  
  
• Week 8 -- 4.5, 5.1 - 5.4. Topics covered: modeling with exponential and logarithmic equations, unit circle, trigonometric functions of real numbers, trigonometric graphs.
  
  
• Week 9 -- 5.4, Review, EXAM II. Topics covered: trigonometric graphs.
  
  
• Week 10 -- 6.1 - 6.4. Topics covered: angle measure, trigonometry of right triangles, trigonometric functions of angles, law of sines.
  
  
• Week 11 -- 6.5, 7.1 - 7.3. Topics covered: law of cosines, trigonometric identities, addition and subtraction formulas, double-angle, half-angle, product and sum formulas.
  
  
• Week 12 -- 7.4 - 7.5, 8.4 - 8.5. Topics covered: inverse trigonometric functions, trigonometric equations, vectors, dot product.
  
  
• Week 13 -- EXAM III*.
  
  
• Week 14 -- 9.1, 10.1 - 10.3. Topics covered: systems of equations, parabolas, ellipses, hyperbolas.
  
  
• Week 15 -- Review for Final.
  
  
• Week 16 -- FINALS
