TO THE INSTRUCTOR: The students in this course will consist mainly of freshman fulfilling their mathematics/philosophy requirement for the core curriculum. This heterogeneous collection of students will have widely varying algebraic skills. Although business majors are supposed to take MATH 141, the College of Business occasionally accepts MATH 166 in place of MATH 141. Thus it is extremely important that the probability and statistics portion of this course be covered thoroughly.
