Configuring Your Browser for Windows®
Internet Explorer
The browser was automatically configured when you installed Maple.
Mozilla Firefox / Netscape 8+
Click on
SampleMaplet.maplet
A dialog window will ask "What should Netscape/Firefox do with this file?"
Select "Open with" and from the dropdown menu select Other. Browse to the Maplet Viewer which is usually:
C:\Program Files\Maple 9.5\bin.win\mapletviewer9.5.exe for Maple 9.5
C:\Program Files\Maple 10\bin.win\mapletviewer.exe for Maple 10
C:\Program Files\Maple 11\bin.win\mapletviewer.exe for Maple 11
Check "Do this automatically for files like this from now on."
Click OK and close the Sample Maplet after it opens.
Netscape 7- / Mozilla (pre-Firefox)
Click on Edit + Preferences
Under Category, Expand Navigator and Click on Helper Applications
Click on New Type to open the New Type dialog:
Enter the following information:
Description of type: Maplet
File Extension: maplet
MIME Type: application/maplet
Next to Application to use: click on Choose and browse to the Maplet Viewer which is usually:
C:\Program Files\Maple 9.5\bin.win\MapletViewer9.5.exe for Maple 9.5
C:\Program Files\Maple 10\bin.win\MapletViewer.exe for Maple 10
C:\Program Files\Maple 11\bin.win\mapletviewer.exe for Maple 11
If possible, uncheck "Always ask me before handling files of this type.
Click OK to close the New Type window.
You should now see the File Type "application/maplet" listed. Clicking on it will show the information you entered.
Click OK again to close the Preferences window.
The first time you run a Maplet, a window may open asking "What should Netscape/Mozilla do with this file? Uncheck the box which says "Always ask before opening this type of file." and click OK.
