Math 152/STEPS: Hot Topics for Tue, 15/Jan/2008

1. In your computer lab today, set up your Linux MATLAB environment for CalcLab. Here are instructions. (This is the electronic version of the white paper handout I gave you in lecture on Monday at the end of class. Your TA has a few extra copies.)
   
   
2. Once you finish your setup, begin working on MATLAB Assignment 1. Most of the problems are from your MATLAB lab manual, the 3rd Edition of Gilat. Its 13-digit ISBN is 978-0-470-10877-2.
   
   
3. For tomorrow, read Section 7.1 in Stewart ("Areas Between Curves") as well as the corresponding lecture. [Optionally view the associated TI-89 video if you are interested. Do this in a TAMU open access lab or on your home computer. Here are instructions.]
   
   
4. I have office hours today in Blocker 601J between 8:30-10:00 am. Feel free to stop by for my TAMUCALC package for your TI-89 if you wish.
   
   
5. MATLAB help session meets tonight in Blocker 131 between 7:00-10:00 pm. The lab staff will be happy to help you with Assignment 1.
