Math 152/STEPS: Hot Topics for Wed, 16/Jan/2008
- Today we cover the following section(s).
- 7.1: Areas Between Curves
- Quiz 1 tomorrow in recitation covers sections 6.4-7.1.
- Work on your current online homework assignment(s). Be aware of
due dates! Also work a sufficient amount of
suggested homework from Stewart as well.
- Having set up your Linux MATLAB environment for CalcLab in
computer lab yesterday, continue to work on
MATLAB Assignment 1.
It is due on Tue, 29/Jan, at the START of class. Make sure that your
team has printed out all work BEFORE you come to
class. DO NOT PUT THINGS OFF!
- MATLAB help session meets tonight in Blocker 131 between
7:00-10:00 pm. The lab staff will be happy to help you with
MATLAB Assignment 1.
- In the TAMU Bookstore in the basement of the MSC, additional
copies of the 3rd Edition of Gilat's MATLAB manual are available
under ENGR 112 and ENGR 111. Make sure that you have obtained this
required new edition in order to do the MATLAB assignments this term.
- Need HELP? Get it!
- The "Week in Advance" will be (generally) held in Blocker
158 on Saturdays between 1:00-3:00 pm. [This is entirely
optional. It is principally for students who have the
initiative and desire to get ahead and is not for the faint of
heart.]
- Bring your TI-89 to me tomorrow (Thu, 17/Jan, 8:30-11:55 am or
2:00-3:00 pm) to obtain my free TAMUCALC package. (Do NOT delay
since I don't want to waste time on Saturday doing this.)
- Make sure that you read the forthcoming week's sections
in Stewart beforehand---Friday night and/or Saturday morning.
- Also read my corresponding lecture handouts on the web.
- We'll work problems principally with the TI-89 + TAMUCALC. This
is how we'll cover a week's worth of material in two hours. For this
week, look over sections 7.1-7.3.
