   • Here are Miss Austin's 9.5 problems, which we'll dispatch today using Calc 3 techniques. [Dr Yasskin will do similar ones, if not the same ones, via Calc 2 techniques on Friday.]

5. This Friday (29/Feb, Leap Day!) I will give a talk on my TAMUCALC package at a Texas Instruments calculator conference. Dr Yasskin will substitute for me in lectures that day. He will cover Section 9.5 in the conventional 9.5 manner that Stewart does in his textbook. (Today I'll show you the more universal Calc 3 way in lecture.) Feel free to do Section 9.5 problems either way. (The Calc 3 way is very fast when done on a TI-89 and will serve you well in downstream statics classes in Engineering. It is also more general.)
   
   
6. Look at MATLAB Assignment 6 this weekend. It deals with all manner of user-defined functions.
