Math 152 Mac OS X MATLAB Environment

Here's how to set up your MATLAB environment on your home Mac OS X machine for Math 152. NOTE: If you do NOT have a multi-button mouse, then wherever it says Right-Click in the following instructions you should Control-Click instead.
  1. Right-Click on the following Zip file, then select Download Linked File. By default, downloaded file will appear on your desktop. Use the Finder to move it to your Home folder.
  2. Open Terminal. At the command prompt enter "unzip MATLAB_mac.zip" without the quotes. Wait for the extraction to complete. Then delete the Zip file by typing "rm MATLAB_mac.zip" and pressing Enter.

  3. Start MATLAB via the dock, Application folder, etc. The codes I wrote for you will now be accessible locally.

  4. NOTE! Running MATLAB locally under Mac OS X has speed benefits. Be apprised, however, that you will need to transfer assignment files back and forth between your CalcLab account and your home machine. You may do this with Fugu, a free, secure file transfer tool.
