Math 308 Windows MATLAB Environment
Here's how to set up your MATLAB 2007a environment on a Windows
machine for Math 308.
- RIGHT-CLICK on the following Zip file, then select Save Target
As. When prompted, save it to your home directory. On Windows XP,
this is "My Documents." On Windows Vista, it is "Documents." On your
TAMU open access labs account, it's your H: drive.
- Open Windows Explorer. (Hold down the Windows key and then press
"E" or via Start, All Programs, Accessories, Windows Explorer).
Navigate to your home directory, then right-click on the Zip file and
select "Extract All." A wizard will open.
- Click the Next button.
- Choose to have files extracted to your home directory.
- Click the Next button and wait for the extraction to complete.
- Click the Finish button, then delete the Zip file.
- Henceforth, start MATLAB under Windows on your labs account by
double-clicking on the MATLAB shortcut on your desktop. The codes I
wrote for you will now be accessible locally.
- NOTE! Running MATLAB locally under Windows has speed
benefits. Be apprised, however, that you will need to transfer
assignment files back and forth between your CalcLab account and your Windows
machine via WinSCP, for example.
