I will be returning from a conference in Europe on the evening before 
classes start.  Therefore, there is a slight chance that I'll be 
delayed.  On Monday morning you should check your e-mail for a possible 
message saying that the Monday class has been cancelled.  If there is 
no such message, you should assume that the class <b>will</b> take 
place.  If there is no class on Monday, please familiarize yourself 
with the handout (linked below), textbook assignment (in the handout), 
and the rest of this web page, so that we can hit the ground running on 
Wednesday.
