The William Lowell Putnam mathematics competition is a national
undergraduate
mathematics competition. Recognition is accorded to both team and individual
performance. A good score can be significant in winning admission to graduate
studies.

The contest is held on the first Saturday in December (DEC 2, 2000), and
runs from 9 AM to
noon (morning session) and again from 2 PM to 5PM. There will be a series of
evening study and
brain-storming sessions in preparation for this contest, beginning Wed. Sept
13 at 7 PM in Milner 317.
