FINAL EXAM FAQ SHEET 1. There will NOT be a take-home question. 2. The two sections will have different tests. The W test will have more essays and fewer multiple-choice (MC) questions than the regular test. 3. Most of the questions will concern the material since the mid-term exam, but there will be a few questions on the older material. 4. A non-MC question will typically be worth 25 points (out of 150). MC questions count 5 points. So, the R test will have 10 MC and 4 others, and the W test will have 5 MC and 5 others. 5. Some of the non-MC questions will be proofs, but certainly not all. There WILL be a historical-biographical timeline question ("put the names in order"). 6. The various components of the course grade will be independently rescaled (curved) to fit the grading scheme in the syllabus. Thus the number you see in eLearning for "homework", for example, is not the number of points you'll get out of 80 (W) or 100 (R). (Don't worry, test scores will not be curved down.)
