  2. (R) Read my "lecture" for the week (when available).
  3. (W) Homework for Monday, Nov. 6: Katz pp. 386-387, Exercises 2, 3, 6, 12, 13;
    pp. 398-399, Exercises 2, 5, 8, 9.
  4. (W) Remember that you have an essay due November 13. (We will cover only Chapter 16 that week.)
  5. (R, optional) Since we have a light reading assignment this week, this is a good time to work in Wolfram's lecture on the history of mathematical notation.
