1. (R) Finish Katz Chapter 11 and read Secs. 12.1-12.2 (the zenith of calculus).
2. (R) Read my "lecture" for the week (when available).
3. (W) Homework for Monday, Oct. 23: Katz pp. 324-326, Exercises 20, 25, 33, 34;
   pp. 360-362, Exercises 10, 12, 15;
   either Exercise 36 on p. 326 or Exercise 8 on p. 360.
4. (R, optional) I strongly recommend J. V. Grabiner, "The Changing Concept of Change: The Derivative from Fermat to Weierstrass", Mathematics Magazine 56 (1983) 195-206. (Recall that you can get the MAA journals on-line through our university library, but I can't get a usable URL to point you to them directly.)
